Comment
The redactor of the epitaph confuses feminine and masculine forms while referring to the deceased: he uses the masculine pronouns (ⲁϥⲙⲧⲟⲛ, ⲙⲙⲟϥ, ⲧϥⲯⲩⲭⲏ) and the noun ⲧⲟⲛ ⲇⲟⲩⲗⲟⲛ, but the feminine adjective ⲧⲙⲁⲕⲁⲣⲓⲁ. There is little doubt, however, that the deceased was indeed a man.

Comment
It cannot be excluded that the reading of the name should in fact be ⲭⲣⲓⲥⲁⲛⲑⲟⲥ, the kappa having been misread as a khi due to the visual similarity of both letters.

Stephanou can be Eioulepa's second name or sobriquet. Otherwise, it can be the name of either another person buried under this tombstone or Eioulepa's father or scribe.
