Łajtar in I. Khartoum Greek 6, comm. to ll. 6–7, suggested, on account of the rarity of the name, that this person may be identical with Bishop Marturophoros who died AD 1159 (Refs 701305 and 702613). However, given the evidence of DBMNT 501 dated to AD 1046, where a certain Marturophors is mentioned as the father of Iesou (Ref 701527), this argument can no longer be held.
